IT Specialist for System Sustainment, Implementation and Integration

This position provides IT-related services expertise supporting the execution of the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics Acquisition (SAF/AQ) customer’s mission to cost effectively modernize to deliver capability to the warfighter when needed. This role shall specifically provide support the infrastructure, project, portfolio, knowledge, and change management efforts to fully integrate continually improving acquisition processes into the overall customer acquisition enterprise. The position requires evaluation of emerging IT and IT-related technologies, including related assessment, engineering, implementation, sustainment, and training efforts to include on-going process improvement.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead analytical projects, to improve customer acquisition processes
  • Evaluate emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, assessing and recommending vendors
  • Identify, evaluate and present findings/recommendations on prototype solutions
  • Develop business, acquisition, and improvement strategies aligned with customer acquisition priorities
  • Lead the development of requirements definition and refinement associated with continually improving acquisition processes
  • Support the benchmarking, operational capability demonstrations, and acquisition of modeling and simulation tools
  • Provide Business Process Reengineering (BPR) and Enterprise Architecture (EA) support
  • Support information services associated with acquisition strategy and overall IT compliance
  • Provide support to USAF Acquisition Chief Information Officer (CIO) in sustaining and evolving improvement strategies to acquisition domain priorities
  • Support continuous process improvement and implementation of acquisition information technology strategies and architectures
  • Develop processes, procedures, and information systems supporting data transparency requirements

Experience Level:

  • 5+ years DoD consulting and/or prior-Federal Government experience
  • Excellent attention to detail, particularly documentation concerns
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment

Tools and Proficiency Level:

  • Knowledge of Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) Methodologies/Techniques
  • Working Knowledge of Oracle and/or SAP
  • Working knowledge of DoD acquisition processes
  • Requires a Tier 3 National Agency Check with Local Agencies (NACLC) or higher clearance

Recommended Certifications:

  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification(s)
  • AWS Certified Solution Architect (or similar)
